The Winter Olympics concluded with the closing ceremony at the Olympic Stadium on February 25th, but after 17 days of this journey that united the world, we still could not be relieved of the Norovirus outbreak. We started to re-produce our products in preparation for the Winter Paralympic Games that began on March 9th. On March 8, EDGD Inc. and the KFDA purchased our products and donated them to the Winter Paralympic Games. In total, around 10,000 Noro-X hand sanitizers were used during the Olympics.
After realizing that the initial amount of product that we provided was too small to prevent the spread of the Norovirus, we needed to produce as much product as we could with urgency. To accomplish this, we received donations from the Korea Basic Science Institute, extending to CJ and then to Chonnam National University. They purchased our products and donated by twice on February 16th and February 22nd, and then the final product was conveyed to the PyeongChang area through the Olympic Organizing Committee.
On February 7th, two days before the '23rd 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games', the largest winter sports festival in the world, Bio3S became aware of the Norovirus outbreak in PyeongChang from the news related to this Olympics. In order to help solve this issue before the opening ceremony began, we brought 250 mL bottles of our product to PyeongChang on February 8th.
